Attitude of Gratitude

Despite best efforts if you do not get the desired results, don't hold yourself responsible but start finding options to turn failure into success. Success will definitely. Yes in how many attempts or in what time - short or long.

You do your best, study hard and attempt best and leave the result to the cosmic power.

You will remain happy throughout life.

In short, be happy with what you have and keep achieving what you wish to achieve

What is intelligence?

1) Cognitive intelligence- what you learn from school and colleges.

2) Emotional intelligence - how to present yourself to others so that you are not repelled. Your thoughts are listened and they convince the listener. Present them in such a way. Or you are not having emotional intelligence.

3) Social intelligence- Modifying your aspiration in such a way that the society benefits from your actions and contribution.

With money or wealth, you cannot top the ladder of reverence in the society.

It is knowledge and sacrifice.

Greed - i.e, corruption cannot make you on the top of reverence among the constituent of society.

Attitude of Gratitude in brief:

1 जो हुआ अच्छा हुआ
2 जो हो रहा है अच्छा हो रहा है
3 जो होगा बह भी अच्छा होगा

ऐसा सोचने से इंसान हमेशा खुश रहता है।  नहीं तो स्ट्रेस और चिंता से समय से पहले ही हार्ट स्ट्रोक और और कितनी बिमारियों का घर बन जाता है।

Learn Everyday

Image result for Stress

Learn something everyday.

1. Researches show that if a person reads something fresh and positive for 6 minutes everyday , the person overcomes 68% of her/his STRESS - the silent killer.

2. Reading and writing whatever you feel and it will relieve your choked mind of old rotten past feelings that keep on burdening your mind all the time and you will feel light mentally.

3. An administrator wrote a book by working in an organisation for about 25 years.

4. Her colleague asked:                     How will it benefit you in terms of money?

5. The quick reply came:

I damn care for the benefits in terms of money. I have enough money to live and survive for 30 more years. But writing the book has lightened my mind that was pre-occupied with old bad troubling memories right from my birth.

Now I feel afresh and real.

Earlier I was in the state of MIND FULLNESS  and now I feel my  MINDFULness (real awareness) has gone up. Contemplation and day dreaming is reduced and reality is visible.

 I am more real now.

People around me say " I am becoming more practical."

So, I have got so many emotional benefits by writing a book. Why should I expect monetary benefits?

The colleague left the scene dumb and convinced.

PLEASANT VS. TOXIC FEELINGS

Pic Courtesy : www.Quoteaddicts.com

Wonder happened today. Whenever I closed my eyes in my mind many negative thoughts used to pop up and mind started paining and body too reacted the same way.

Yesterday, I read an email that said that feelings play a major role to make you happy. Leave negative thinking and fears and switch to positive thoughts.

I closed my eyes and felt and repeated  with mouth tight lipped following positive thoughts:

1. World is a beautiful place to live.
2. There is no problem with the world.
3. Evolution is a part of the process. So, I am progressing and evolving. World is progressing and evolving. There is nothing to worry. I am best in my role.
4. I have best father.

5. I have best mother.
6. I have best brother and sisters.
7. I have best wife.
8. I have the best children.
9. Everything I have is best.

10. Only best happens.
11. God gives me always the best.
12. All the people around me love me.
13. I have the best things of the world.

Wow! It took me about  3-5 minutes and I repeated these positive thoughts two times.
These feelings soothed my inner self and happiness emanated from my own body.

I was astonished at this miracle.
I was much troubled why don't I feel good.

But I never knew that my negative thoughts were the cause of my internal troubles.

I feel good today.

I am meeting with everyone with a smile and everyone who meets with me asks me: what has happened, you are very happy.

I can't tell them the whole story as it is long. I just tell: yes, I am happy and why I don't know.

You too practice this and feel good.

My blessings to youngsters and respects to elders.
मैंने सीखा कि दुनिया में मैं कभी खुश नहीं रह सकता यदि मैं खुद से खुश नहीं हूँ।  अच्छी सुखद feelings ड्रीम करने से मन खुश होता है।

Instant Relaxation

STRESS BUSTER

1. Stand up facing sun.
2, Close your eyes.
3. Feel as if sun rays are going inside your body through your closed eyes centre on forehead.
4, Feel the rays are going down towards toes.
5, You will feel certain strong jerks. This means body is relaxing and stress is going out of the body.
6. Do this for 5 minutes.
7. Do not do this more than 5-7 minutes. I experimented it and found me relaxed.  Exercising like this may affect the body adversely.

STRESS BUSTER

STRESS BUSTER

No complaints, please!

Making our lives better and happier is our prime motive, and we feel the need to make a conscious effort towards it.

Since, the commitment is to our own selves, so, only we are responsible.

We have to look into our lives and see what would make the biggest impact.

We need to give up certain ways and habits and take on something we could continue doing to bring about a positive change in our lives.

Here, I am going to give you a list of a few things you should stop doing so that life becomes blissful and stress free.

STOP COMPLAINING:

Complaining is actually a way of finding fault with everything around you. You build up lot of negativity your system which affects you adversely.

·      Complaining keeps you in stuck in ‘problem mode” and inaction.
·      It spreads negativity to others.
·      A form of rumination.
·      Makes frustration seem more intense and chronic.
·      Keeps magnifying problems.
·      Not really an effective way to feeling better.

Minimize junk food intake.

Poor diet increases stress. Monitor junk going inside your system. Too much caffeine can become exhausting. Emotional exhaustion can cause depression. It is important to give up poor eating habits to rejuvenate your system and get rid of stress from your life.

Making comparisons:
It’s human nature to compare. In the age of social media, it is easy to slip into comparisons. Competitive friendships are common. If we think we are in any way less than our friends, we don’t feel good and this creates stress.

Unrealistic expectations

Real sources of stress in our lives are unrealistic expectations from our own self and from others around us. This generates a sense of lack and disappointment within us.

Safeguard sleep

One of the major causes of stress is not getting enough sleep.  This can lead to a lot of stress. Sleep helps you feel more empowered, better equipped to solve problems and enjoy your life with a stress free mind.

Jumping to conclusions

Many times in life you can react without having all the facts and jump to conclusions. We can assume the worst about others. We like to imagine we are mind readers. We start reacting without knowing the facts.

So, we need to give up the negatives and pick up on the positives in order bring ourselves to a level of happiness we desire.

The article has appeared on Life & Style page of The Tribune dated 9th February, 2016 published from Chandigarh (India).

I am sharing it for the benefit of my brothers, sisters, children throughout the world.

To win the race, slow down

To win the race, slow down

An article published in The Tribune dated 14th August, 2014

by Dr. Aditya Ratan, a Panchkula (Haryana-India) based consultant

            CARDIOLOGIST.

In today’s fast-paced world, it is a aptly said that stress is nothing but a socially acceptable form of mental illness. Stress often results from mismatch between expectations and abilities. Those who are stressed are likely to be unhealthy, less motivated and less productive. However, most of the stress can be easily managed.

Here are a few simple steps that will help.

  • Don’t burden your brain with too many things to memorise. Keep a simple organizer diary handy or use your smartpone organizer apps to note down the to-do list for the day. Plan your day ahead. Keep separate time slots for work, meals, family and social calls. Keep your mind clutter-free by noting down even the smallest things like greeting someone on a birthday, anniversary or payment of bills etc.

  • Visualise your work place as your playground and try to maintain a passion for work.

  • Try to sneak in time for a power nap in the afternoon, which may be as little as 20 minutes. Don’t let others encroach upon your schedule.

  • Avoid excessive use of social networking sites during your working hours.

  • Appreciate, acknowledge and show your gratitude for every small work done by any co-worker. Don’t fret over unfinished tasks as it crates a negative atmosphere ad does not help any cause.

  • Don’t throw your bags or push your kids away when you reach home. Your actual job starts as soon as you enter the house. The best de-stressor is spending quality time with the persons you love and care for the most.

  • De-stressing is important but try to avoid electronic media for the purpose.  A few silent deep breaths or sitting in meditation can help you de-stress faster than you can imagine. It is rightly said that the best time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.

  • Prioritize your work. Plan and do the important and necessary things first. There is no harm in organizing and delegating things that don’t require you in person.

  • The first time to take up and finish the task in band is now. Meticulous planning is of no help unless acted upon. Don’t procrastinate

  • Go for vacations often. Spend your weekends relaxing. Try not to bring your work home. Plan your week ahead.

  • Inculcate a hobby and spend your leisure time in doing what you enjoy the most.

  • Go with the rhythm of the nature. Dedicate your early morning for yoga, meditation or a long walk. Remain in the present moment. Listen to the chirping of the birds and enjoy the blessings of nature.

  • Pamper yourself. Go for spas: head and body messages/workout in the gym. Shopping and rewarding yourself can be a big stress buster for some.

  • Don’t get upset by the happenings around you. Remember the spiritual mantra: this too shall pass.

COULD A LITTLE GLEAM BE ALL THAT IT WOULD SEEM

"Could a Little Gleam Be All That It Would Seem"

Please give me a little shimmer
for one whose lights
gone dimmer.
Could a little gleam
be all that it
would seem?

I, myself a bit artful
shall enjoy
a sprinkle of sparkle.
To set the mood just right
throw off a ray
of light.

The warmth from a candle's glow
shall have more softness
burning low.

Allow its radiance to be steady,
for it has flickered
enough already!

Remember, it was the light
from a special star
that the wise men
followed far.

KING SIZE LIFE

Live Life

King Size

This is an article by Renee Singh – a Chandigarh based psychoanalyst published in The Tribune, 10th June, 2014 . I adore her a lot as her articles make me aware about my shortcoming to reach my goal of attaining “full happiness” and burst stress.

We can all have a little fun in our lives to make us feel better.

Rather having fun actually needs to be a regular occurrence. There are a few relaxing social activities that can develop into regular habits and have loads of fun.

“Loosen up, lighten up” … is the mantra to de-stress. If we let ourselves just be and not try to be too analytical (I say avoid “petty analysis and live happier and longer) or critical of ourselves as well as others, we would definitely be happier.

“He who smiles rather than who rages is always the stronger”…..goes a Japanese saying.

TARGET HAPPINESS

Most people just flow along with life, taking it easy and allowing the flow to take over. This could work for some of us to some extent, but if you really want to enjoy life you have to create a mental self-disciplinary way. Set yourself  happiness targets and live up to them.

LIFT YOUR MOOD

Enjoying your life is not just simple indulgence. Getting more of what you enjoy into your life is a great way to bust stress, as it basically leads to a better frame of mind.

LAUGH IT OFF

With the right attitude, stress can easily roll away from your inner self. Cultivate the ability to laugh in the face of stress; this is a great way of enjoying life to the fullest as you are less affected by stress. A good laughter releases endorphins and other healthy hormones that relieve stress. Laughter leaves us with a positive and healthy frame of mind.

STRESS RELIEVERS

There are many great stress relievers though it is not very easy to stick to them. However, the fun stress relievers are easier to practice on regular basis. And you also look forward to them.

PLAY GAMES

Playing games whether it’s with adults or with kids is a great stress reliever. Games keep us in the present. Allow your inner child to play on a regular basis. If you are a parent, just make it a habit to enjoy with your children. Do everything in the day with a playful attitude and watch stress melt away.

BOOK YOURSELF

Books provide the right distraction and escape from stress. We can spend time with them at our own convenience and our own leisure.

GARDENING SPACE

Bonding with nature is a great way of re-connecting with your self. Beautifying your space helps in beating stress.

ARTISTIC NOTE

Re-discover your artistic side. Doodling, painting and sketching help you express yourself; unleash the bottled up emotions from within.

FRIENDLY TIES

This is one of the most relaxing practices. It is only with your friends that you can let your hair down and just be yourself.

TELL JOKES

One can forward messages that are funny and these make you chuckle or even laugh.

CLEAR THE CLUTTER

This may not sound like a fun activity but less clutter would mean less stress in the environment which helps ease your mood.

REMAIN IN PRESENT

The Basing yourself firmly in the present moment helps in de-stressing. There is a long list of things that can help you beat the stress. See what appeals to you and just go for it!

MANUAL LABOUR  RELAXES

For the past many days I was feeling stressed and consulted doctors and many other healers. But the mental stress did not subside.

Yesterday, I wished to be a carpenter. I took saw, hammer and some nails. An old waste piece of wood i.e. plywood was picked from the left over pieces.

I sawed the piece into sizes . Then I jointed the pieces with nails and a small table was made.

I was very happy as I had become a carpenter. As benefit or the by-product of this manual labour was that I felt relaxed. Then I realized   that manual labour reduced stress. It is good source stress reduction.
शारिरिक काम करने से तनाब कम होता है

Today, I became a mason. I took some bricks and made a step. I plastered it with cement and sand. It was rough, not up to the mark. But I was happy that I am able to do it though I am an Associate Professor by profession.

Only one more work is yet to be learned i.e. plumbing and many complaints from my second-half will be over.
इस छोटे से तजुर्बे ने यह बता दिया कि परिश्रम करने से शरीर ठीक रहता है

Life Skills

Personality Development Skills
SLM-1 (Mind Power SPOKEN ENGLISH Institute)

Hello student,

Here below are the skills that can enhance your personality for better living.

  1. There is one difference that makes you different from others and successful in life. The difference is gut feelings, enthusiasm and self-motivation. Have you seen your puppy  running with extra ordinary energy when it sees the ball i.e. the goal it loves? This kind of gut feelings, enthusiasm and self-motivation leads anyone to achieve anything in life.
  2. For achieving what is at #1 we need to modify our behaviour. Thoughts pop up in mind – positive and negative. Thoughts are like air entering our houses. Storm that is also air brings along with dust too. Same is with negative thinking. It destroys our dreams. Keep in mind always – positive thoughts. Don’t waste your mental energy on thinking “why is this difficult or impossible.” Just dare and think “how can it done” and do.
  3. Know your rights. You have the right to make mistakes and not feel guilty. Feeling guilty for mistakes is one of the biggest stress creating agents. There is none in the world who has not committed mistakes. Wise don’t feel guilty and mend the mistake next time. Mistakes are part of your learning process.
3.1     You have right to say “No” to unwanted demands from others – be it your own kith and kin.  Yes learn to say “No” politely, tactfully and without hurting others’ feelings. Say it graciously.
3.2     You have the right to make and follow your own priorities.
3.3     You have the right to love yourself. Never compare. Accept yourself in absolute totality. Celebrate yourself saying yourself “YES, I have done it. I can do it. God has made me unique. There is none in the world like me. I will design my life and I will live life of my dreams.”
3.4     You have the right to dream and follow those dreams.
3.5     You have the right to take responsibility of your life. You are a member of the team yet different from the team.
  1. Law of success: Love yourself. Accept yourself in absolute totality and never compare. Comparison is hell. Winners beat their own records. Losers compare with others. Think positively. Positive thoughts create health and opportunities, negative thoughts destroy health and opportunities.
  2. Learn to handle anger: Anger is a disabling emotion. Anger increases pulse rate, rises blood pressure. It burns the vessel (who indulges in anger) more than the vessel (who faces anger) upon which it is poured. It is like acid. Whenever you feel that the situation will provoke you to be angry (1) Drink 2 glasses of water (2) Closing eyes do deep breathing (3) Just keeping mouth shut count up to 20. These are some of the ways suggested by world renowned psychologists. Anger destroys internal immunity, decreases patience which is very essential for becoming GREAT from good. In anger, the root of the problem is clouded. Save yourself. Say less, observe more is GOLDEN rule to find the root of the problem. Instead of unexpectedly exploding on some person or situation, let your brain question the root of the problem. YOU CAN DO IT.
  3. Think positively to live happily. Send positive messages to your mind and heart. Count your blessings and feel the gratitude. Whenever in doubt for happiness, think about the people who don’t have what you have and enjoy. Deep breathing and meditation (not medication) make a person her/his own cheerleader. Permanent happiness does not come from mental possession and expectation, it comes from feeling of self-fulfillment.
You are more powerful than what the people around you tell. Write your strengths and weaknesses. You will find that you have less weaknesses. Whatever weaknesses you have that you will be able to control and overcome just within a period of 6 months.  Love what you do. Don’t regret. Enjoy life to the fullest extent. YOU CAN DO. Mind ready everything is easy.  Always say to your mind: YES I CAN. If you are mentally saying, “ I can’t”, you are creating mental barriers and blocks for your body to work. YES I CAN itself is energy. Boost yourself with this energy. Saying “Yes” itself to the people around you itself is creating positive energy or say “least mental resistant”  in your mind. That’s all for the day.

Knowledge is knowing the dots, wisdom is connecting those dots to achieve what you desire.
