PRAYER

There is nothing that you cannot achieve by prayer.

without it,

but if I was able to get rid of it, it was because of prayer.”

Character And Desity

Floyd Patterson, the worlds's heavyweight champion once said that he must change his mental attitude and work hard . And he did work hard hard, developed inspiration to action, know-how, and activity knowledge. He once again regained the world's heavy weight champion crown. At that time his future was ahead of him.

Now, is your future ahead of you or behind you? The answer for this question depends on your success in eliminating any existing unseen walls such as negative habits and undesirable thoughts and actions = and strengthen and build positive thoughts and deeds. For character is the Key stone to success. The essence of perfection is never reached, but you gain character by trying to reach it. Good luck or bad luck, success or failure - which will it be for you?

The choice is yours. You hold the tiller. You can steer the course you choose in the direction of where you want to be - today, tomorrow, or in distant time yet to come.

Now is the time to find where you are. And now is the time to check your habits of thought and action, for these have brought you to where you are now. Are you on the right course to get from where you are now to where you really want to be? regardless of what you are or what you have been, you can still become what you may want to be. As a ship captain does, you will have to steer the course of your voyage. Remember, many a ship that lost its rudeder and many a person who lost character have become derelicts, lost to the world. This can happen at almost any point in a voyage at sea or in life.

For Character is the one common denominator of all perssonal qualities that will insure a truly successful future.

In order to develop good character, you've to win over yourself. The development of good character is battle that you, I and everyone must fight for himself. The battle is from within, but we can get help from wtihout from good persons and good books that motivate the reader to try to become a better person. But whatever may be the source of help it all depends on what you learn and put into your life. You have the power to affect, use, control or harmonize with all of them.

And you can direct your thoughts, control your emotions and ordain your destiny. Whoever can stop you from doing it?

Dear Reader,

Be brave, be bold, dare and do. Nothing is impossible.
No obstacle is insurmountable.

Once your mind is made up and you stand firm as a rock, no one can stop you from gaining your goal and crowning yourself with success.

With hope and ambition, do give rein to your vision, look ahead and plan and, above all, act. Do not waver, do not hesitate, do not rest till the job is done.

Know what you want and go after it with single-minded and with solemn resolution.



Abraham Lincoln says, “Your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other thing”.


Success comes when you get what you want or desire. The starting point, then, is to know what you want in life. If you don’t know what you want, the question of getting it does not arise at all.



You must, therefore, have a goal, an objective or target. You decide your goal according to your vision, day dream, inclination, ability, natural skill, knowledge and needs.



Think big and not small. Aim at the star and shoot high. Never settle for small things. Verily, the sky is the limit for those who dare and do.



Gandhiji(1869-1948) was a frail man, a lone individual. Yet he challenged the mighty British empire on which the sun never set. He had the vision, and displayed the courage and confidence to go after his visionary goal with missionary zeal. The mighty British empire was shaken and shattered to pieces and India awok to freedom and so also many other colonies in all the other continents and corners of the earth. And Gandhiji was a frail soul. He had no army, no money, no wealth, no riches and no battalions.
Gandhiji was of the opinion, “ there is no religion higher than the truth”. He had awoken the spirit of India with his call for “ahimsa” (non-violence), “satyagraha” (civil disobedience) and “Quit India” movement. British was forced out and his dream of a new, secular, self-willed, self-sufficient India began to take place.
Every year we celebrate Gandhij’s birthday. But we celebrate Gandhiji and not his principles and philosophy. If we reflect on his life, it could be a source of great strength and inspiration to all of us. If a ‘lean’ person could dislodge the mightiest power on earth with the weapon of non-violence through a steel will and a never-say-die spirit, we, too, can meet any odds and obstacles in our way to our cherished goal with a single-minded devotion and dedication. But, we eagerly await the public holiday on Gandhi Jayanti not to muse over and emulate this great man’s philosophy, but for indulging in fun and frolic only
Narayana Murthy (1946) had a dream and no money. In 1981, Narayana Murthy borrowed Rs. 10000/- from his wife, Sudha, to start Infosys with six friends. His dream was not to write software for the West but to create an instrument of wealth for India and generate more and more employment for Indians. Through sheer dint of hard work and force of vision, Narayana Murthy has transformed Infosys into a global star bearing an Indian stamp.


Dr. A.P.J Kalam(1931) who believes in “The Flight of A Dream” was rejected as pilot. Young Kalam dreamt of launching satellites. A degree in aeronautical engineering saw his dream go into orbit. The brilliant engineer guided India into the satellite and missile age and he rose to become a respected and much loved Head of the State i.e. President of India.
The lives of Mahatma Gandh, Naryana Murthy and Dr A.P.J Kalam are among indefatigable spirits who never deflected from their cherished goals and serve as beacon lights for us.


Visualize the image of what you would like to become in life. Do you want to be a king, a revolutionary leader, a business tycoon, a famous lawyer, a renowned professor, a skilled engineer or a great doctor? Let your ambition surface. But be true to your own self. Your aspirations may seem mere daydreams and wild castles in the air in the beginning start. Never mind and never fear. What appears impossible today will become a reality tomorrow with your determination, dedication and application. Anything which you regard now as of great value or accomplishment was a mere thought, idea, or dream at one time, be it the Taj Mahal or the atom bomb or the aero plane.

The secret of success, the source of strength, the spring of power, the foundation of wealth and royal path to name, fame and glory is yourself, your self-confidence and your own will power, born out of and sustained knowledge. Know and realise that you and you alone are the master of your destiny and captain of your soul. You can fashion your fate the way you will it.
