EDUCATION EMPOWERS

VALUE OF EDUCATION
Pic courtesy: www.duskyswondersite.com
Roots of education may seem bitter but fruits of education are really sweet and last for whole of life.
I categorise the human beings in 3 categories generally:
1. Unemployable: Those who do not possess any skill or education and look for job as a daily wager.
2. Employable: Know the mother tongue and are employable in their own states where mother tongue is spoken and written and their maximum job market is their own country.
3. Globally employable: Who know their mother tongue, national language and international language like English. They are educated and command employability throughout world.
While emphasising on education, one simple sentence is used:
Education is a better guard of liberty than standing army.
As seed grows into a big tree of different sizes and colours, so is the education gives the fruit throughout life in different ways. One fruit is you belong to the world through internet and without spending a dime, enjoy meeting kith and kin, friends from different countries. Who does not like having friends from different countries!
Another couplet impresses me:
Formal education gives living,
but self-education gives a fortune.
So, never stop learning even after leaving school, college or university. Reading 5/6 pages a day will make you better than those who do not read. Start is difficult. Muster the courage to start and your interest will grow.
Education adds value to you. How?
Scrap of iron is sold say price is  1 cent per kg.
But when scrap is sent to the furnace, it is burned in the furnace. Good quality scrap turns into steel while bad quality scrap is burned during the process.
Steel sells 10 times costlier than scrap.
From this steel, very costly products are manufactured. Value addition keeps on adding at each and every step.
Now, steel when turned into "magnet" costs 1000 times more than steel.  Magnets run the turbines that generate electricity and electricity is life line of humans and industries.
Applying the same to humans:
1. As a child, we go to school. Some bear the pressure and continue the education. They are good scrap. Others don't discipline themselves for any reason whatever it may be  and drop. They are bad scrap.
2. Many complete schooling but do not join colleges. Those who join college are like steel i.e. they have better value and work options. They have employment opportunities - nationally and internationally.
3.  The third level is steel turned into "magnet". Applying to the same yardstick to humans, the growth oriented minds who have been sharpened in schools, college or university keep on becoming better and better. They do not compare themselves with others or fellow beings but keep on improving their levels of learning. This makes them "magnets" or experts in their field of work.
Education enables a person to differentiate between "good" and "b ad" , ethical and in-ethical, moral and immoral, legal and illegal and many more. Education is the best gift to be given to the kids. All other gifts are perishable and but gift of education is imperishable.
Education is self-acquired skill. Certificates can be given to the children or others but the knowledge and skill acquired through those certificate cannot be transferred.
Education empower, education elevates. Be educated. Age does not matt r for learning. A 92 years old lady, said on TV in reply to a question of the anchor: So, grandma, you have finished 10th standard. Now what is your dream. She replied in fumbling broken words:  I,  I, I  w   i     s   h          to   b  e       g r a d u a t e    b e f o r e      I     c  l o  s  e    m  y      e   y  e s.  Who teaches was the next question?  M  y  g r e a t   g r e a t   g r a n d  d a u g h t e r.
77 years old Vinodji from Patna is doing Ph.D.
Value yourself and value education.
Here is a story from a student who had completed his +2 from Punjabi medium school from a village. He told:
I paid you Rs. 2200/- as fee for English Speaking Course  but it will pay me over 1 crore in life. I was surprised and asked: How?            He further told: It is a long story. I belong to a village. My father is a village head. I passed my +2 from Punjabi medium school with 80% marks. An advertisement from a bank said candidates with 60% marks in +2 can apply for the posts of Clerks. I was happy and applied for the post.
The word of my applying for the bank spread in the village and the villages around as my father used to tell each and every person he met.
With great zeal and zest I prepared for the exam. I took the exam. The result was FAIL. I  was discouraged.  My mother boosted my morale and father  too said that it was first attempt, don't bother.
Next time too I failed. This time my father was angry. I felt frustrated. But I attempted 3rd time and this time too I failed. I reflected upon the reasons of my continuous failure and found that my English was poor.   I worked very hard on English. 4th time I attempted and I failed.
This infuriated my father and he threw me out of the house. My mother wept a lot.
I came to your city and started working in a factory. I was paid Rs. 4000/- per month. I stayed in a dingy room.
I joined 2/3 institutes to learn ENGLISH. But at the time of admission, they said: You will write and speak ENGLISH well but the course ended they said: You are from Punjabi medium school and that too from a village, hence you are very weak in ENGLISH.  These words hurt me a lot. But I could not speak back.
As luck would have been, one day I was going back to my room in the auto-rickshaw (3-wheeler) and as usual I was telling my story of frustration to one of my friend. In that auto-rickshaw, a lady professor was sitting. She was hearing all this. She advised me to meet you.  I met you and you gave me hope. You told me that I would learn English writing and speaking. It all heartened me. I joined the 2 month course by depositing Rs.2200 in 2007. I attended the class. I felt a new energy for studying and working hard. Meditation techniques, memory techniques taught by you made me more confident.
Your words: Two characteristics Attitude and Making Efforts are in your control. If you believe you can pass any exam, you must have positive attitude and should "Never Stop Doing" . These words inspire me to work hard.
As I lived all alone and had failed in the bank exams 4 times, throughout night I kept on reading the books in addition to the SELF-LEARNING MATERIAL, audio CDs, workbook given by you.  This all made me confident and I took the exam of the bank.          This time, I cleared the exam.
"That's true, but how it will give you 1 crore?" I quipped out of curiosity.
"Sir, I am getting Rs. 20000/- as salary and will work at least for 30/35 years. My promotion will be there. Respect and prestige is there. This will make me more than 1 crore in 35 years. "
I gave a loud laugh as this was never thought by my small head.
"Sir, now my father is addressed as "father of bank manager" by the villagers and villagers come to our home for seeking guidance for bank exams for their children. It boosts the heart of my parents. Now my father on the rainy days comes to my bank to pick me up in the car. I thank you a lot. It is all due to your guidance. Your way of teaching is excellent. It generates confidence. THANK YOU SIR, PRANAM."

I was thinking that a teacher can never know how his teaching will benefit the taught.

So, Rs. 2200/- investment on education will pay the taught Rs. 1 crore in life. This is the value of education.
Success is not tough but it demands:
1. Hard work, continuous focused hard.
2. Positive attitude with end result in mind.
3. Powerful self-trusting self-talk makes you winner.

Prohibition

BAN ON ALCOHOL DRINKING

CONGRATULATIONS TO SHRI NITISH KUMARJI –
CHIEF MINISTER OF BIHAR, INDIA

Nitishji had promised to the people of Bihar before the election 2015 that there will be complete prohibition i.e. ban on liquor in Bihar from April, 2016.

Now this promise has been fulfilled as the honorable Chief Minister has made it public that from April 2016, there will complete prohibition in Bihar.

No doubt the state will lose heavily in respect of finances but this decision will
-         -    Improve the lives of the people in the state
-         -   Improve the family life of the people in the state
-         -   Improve the public relations in the state
-         - Improve the image of the people in the mind of the people in other states.

Family disputes and conflicts will be reduced. More mindful living will be enjoyed by the people of Bihar. Bihar has become the fourth state where prohibition where complete ban on liquor i.e. prohibition has been implemented by law.

Gujarat, Manipur and Nagaland are the other three states.

It is the right time when the Governments of Punjab, Haryana and Governments of other states should also heed to this good gesture and action of Bihar Government.

The governments that in paper preach ‘prohibition’ but in reality promote ‘LIQUOR CONSUMPTION’ (by giving licences to more and more liquor and wine vends)  can never be the welfare wishers of the people and society.

Again: CONGRATULATIONS, SIR.

THINK

THINK WHAT YOU THINK and WHAT YOU DO.

In life, there are BIG challenges and small challenges. If BIG challenges are taken care of, small challenges or problems are solved automatically.

So, to be better and light in life, one should focus on BIG challenges or problems and solve them. In management it is called 80:20 pareto method. Means that BIG problems need your 20 per cent time and 80% problems are solved whereas small problems account for 20 per cent but eat away 80 per cent time.

Choice lies with you. Whether to focus on 80% or 20% in life.

Here is an example: A professor was giving the demo of this 80:20 pareto method.

He took out a jar of glass. Placed it on the table. Now he took out some big pieces of stone and put them in the jar, Jar was full and its cover was not fitting it. Professor asked the students: Is there any space to put something more in the jar. The loud reply was: No, sir.

Professor took small pebbles and put the same in the jar. The small pebbles were fitted well in the jar. Again the same question: Is there any space to put anything more in the jar? Again the loud reply: No, sir.         "Good", Professor said.

He took out a handful of sand and dropped in the jar. The sand settled in the jar well.
All the students were awe stricken.

So, what you learn., dear students.

Jar is your mind. If you fill with big problems and say: No more space, then you are wrong. Mind has a large space to accommodate many more things. It is you, who says: It is enough. Stretch yourself and see the wonder your mind can do for you.

Next he empties the jar and places it on the table.

This time fills the jar with sand i.e. small problems of life. The jar was full up to the top. No space was there.

Now what have you learnt students: If you will fill your mind with solving little and small problems of life, the big problems will not have space for solution in your mind and throughout life you will keep on thinking that I am troubled and troubles don't leave. In reality, you have not known the root of the troubles yourself and keep focussing on the branches of troubles.

So, focus to solve the  BIGGEST problems of life first.
Then  priority is : BIGGER, BIG, SMALL, SMALLER AND SMALLEST problem.

You will enjoy the life.

Marriage School

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Marriage School

THE SCHOOL CALLED MARRIAGE

Marriage is the only school where
you get the Certificate before you start.

It's also a school where you will never graduate.

It's a school without a break or a free period.

It's a school where no one is allowed to drop out.

It's a school you will have to attend every day of your life.

It's a school where there is no sick leave or holidays.

It's a school founded by God:
1.On the foundation of love.
2.The walls are made out of trust.
3.The door made out of acceptance.
4.The windows made out of understanding
5.The furniture made out of blessings
6.The roof made out of faith.

Be reminded that you are just a student not the principal.
God is the only Principal.

Even in times of storms, don't be unwise and run outside.

Keep in mind that, this school is the safest place to be.

Never go to sleep before completing your
assignments for the day.

Never forget the C-word...Communicate.

Communicate with your classmate and with the Principal.

If you find out something in your classmate (spouse)
 that you do not appreciate,
Remember your classmate is also just a student not a graduate,
God is not finished with him/her yet.
So take it as a challenge and work on it together.

Do not forget to study the Holy Book
(the main textbook of this school).

Start each day with a sacred assembly and
 end it the same way.

Sometimes you will feel like not attending classes,
 yet you have to.

When tempted to quit find courage and continue.

Some tests and exams may be tough but remember,
the Principal knows how much you can bear and yet
it's a school better than any other.

It's one of the best schools on earth;
joy, peace and happiness accompany each lesson of the day.

Different subjects are offered in this school,
yet love is the major subject.

After all the years of theorizing about it,
now you have a chance to practice it.

To be loved is a good thing, but to love
is the greatest privilege of them all.

Marriage is a place of love, so love your spouse.

More - grace from God.

Prof P.K.Keshap's view:

Marriages are settled in heaven but celebrated on Earth
Union of two souls is written right from birth.

Those who believe and trust in this, live a far more successful married life than others who believe that the grass is greener on the other side of the wall. Grass is greener where you will water it.   - Prof P.K.Keshap

Learning never ends

Image result for learning is a never ending processImage result for learning is a never ending process

Learn an inch a day
Tomorrow it will become 2 inches
A month will make it 30 and turn
it into 365 inches in a year.

In a year you are better 365 times than non-learner. Progress in learning comes with practice. Practice, practice and practice and success in chosen field or desire will be yours.

Learning is your own self-effort. Nobody else is responsible for this.  Others can guide you. train you, mentor you. But it is solely your responsibility and accountability of self to learn whatever you wish.

I AM EVERYTHING   -    EGO FEELING
I AM NOTHING -            INFERIOR FEELING
BUT
I AM SOMETHING AND
CAN DO EVERYTHING - SELF BELIEF /SELF TRUST.

Right self belief based on honest true strengths leads to true success in life.

Identify your natural talent and you will never feel tired to exert 24/7 .

Sachin Tendulkar did not fare well in exams while young. His report card showed very poor results. Instead of using harsh words and a reprimand, his mother politely taking him in her lap asked, "what interests you, my dear little angel." The child innocently replied, " cricket." His elder brother, very next day brought a bad and ball and gave it to the child. The whole of family loved to play with the child in the house, though small.

Mother and brother did not force their will to go to school and be a scholar.

Rest is the history. Who doesn't know about Sachin Tendulkar - a great cricketer in the world?

Every child is born with a talent. Give the child free hand to choose and you will find him growing in that field because he loves his work based on natural talent.

IP is the principle of success. I =IDEA      P=PASSION.

Idea means what has value in the real world i.e. what sells.    Passion is honest efforts with love and devotion to turn that idea into success.

Learning is the beginning of knowledge,
Learning is the beginning of job into career
Learning is the beginning of spirituality
Learning is the magic that transforms your dreams into reality.

So, love learning, change your attitude and your world will change.
Progress in learning comes through practice, practice and practice and it is old saying "Practice Makes a man Perfect." You are perfect in your own way. Don't let negative thoughts or negative self-talk deteriorate your determination.
Talk yourself positive everyday.
I am a complete person.
I am master of my own life.
I listen to other and learn a lot from them.
I know when I speak, I repeat what I already know
But when I listen to others, I know what I don't know.

LISTENING IS BETTER THAN SPEAKING.

"Love Is Ever-Lasting"

 "Love Is Ever-Lasting"

When love leaves its mark on you
it carries you through some incredibly
difficult times.

The love that has been given to you
becomes an indelible part of you,
so much so that it remain long after
the one who has given it to you is gone.

It is a never-ending gift.

Not only you yourself will benefit.
Others after you will absorb the love
in you that was given to you by somebody else.

You see it's a gift that keeps passing on and gets
stronger through each passage of time.

It never wanes as long as you keep supporting it.

I always remember this after a loved one's passing,
that love is ever-lasting.

                                                                               , Sandy Wyllie (USA)
Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection ("Ilove my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal"). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment.
