REAL EDUCATION

Educate * Empower * Elevate

Education received in schools, colleges and universities is not complete until and unless we have developed a sense of ethical and moral living.

Sympathy and empathy are not taught but ought to be developed and focus of our learning should be developing Human Centric Solutions to the problems faced by humans throughout the world.

EDUCATION = INTELLIGENCE + CHARACTER.

Mahatma Gandhi - the father of nation - says:

Wealth is lost, nothing is lost,
Health is lost, something is lost,
Character is lost, everything is lost.

The learnings made in the schools, colleges and universities are like the beads of the garland but the beads can be turned into garland with solid thread. Spirituality and its development is that thread. Spirituality develops the human mind to cultivate kindness, sympathy and empathy for the pains of the living - be it humans, animals or birds. Environment is loved by the spiritual person.

So, develop spirituality to be more educated beyond schools, colleges and universities.

Pretensions, doubts, excuses are some of the hurdles faced by an individual on spiritual path. Right master with self-effort on the spiritual path leads to right path and destination.

Those who are spiritually enlightened serve the society in wider ways,

ENERGY

ENERGY- TRUE RELIGION

That which is accepted by an individual- males, females, children, olds everyone and society at large is a true religion. Ascetic Kannadi says: What creates welfare for all in this world and in the world next is true religion.

Religion is not narrow and blind as interpreted  by various many religious leaders citing various hymns or definitions from  the holy scriptures. The religion means raising the level of consciousness beyond mental narrowness confined to caste, creed, color, gender or nationality. It works for the welfare of humans of all hues. True religion when practiced transcends this mental narrowness. It’s a self-effort.

When we analyse a religion deeply, we come to know that a human life is not moving from false living to good living but from good living to higher living and truth, from truth to higher truth. We all are the progeny of one God and are basically bonded with each other at soul level.

Unity is the essence of religion. All religions teach us non-violence, love all in the world be it environment or nature. In the holy scriptures, it is envisaged that serving the needy, poor and weak is the highest service and highest religion too.

Our saints have widely analysed and popularised the religion. Knowledge and science is widely now being talked and discussed and taking over the true religion. Sensitive to humans’ difficulties and problems is declining. Growing materialism in the minds of the constituents of this world is another reason of worry for humanistic mind. Proliferation of science without sensitivity to human aspect can develop hydrogen bombs that can cause loss of humans greater than the losses in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Indian culture looks at religion from a large perspective and terms the war too as “religious war”. Religion is primarily leads the minds of the Indians. In Mahabharata, armies fought but never lost the humanistic perspective while dealing with enemies. Perhaps, the present time Charter of Human Rights by United Nations if dug well may have roots to those times.

True religion elevates our mental level and directs us to spiritualism. Spiritually developed individual works for the welfare of all humans like air which is essential to breathe.

What the living being need- air, water, clothing, home and then luxuries. But the greed grinds at the root of the mind and takes it to an extent where we develop sins.

Absence of true religion causes proliferation of materialism and curtails spiritualism. This attitude is a great mental wall for the philosophy “Live and Let Live”.

True religion teaches and trains our minds to accept others as they are and practice “Live and Let Live” philosophy. This is possible only if we mentally (directing process of thinking)  practice non-violence, peace, satisfaction with what we have on day to day basis. This form of true religion if practiced by all can make this planet really secure for all.

RELAXATION

Relaxation   by Prof P.K.Keshap

in Spirituality / Meditation    (submitted 2011-05-03)

Relaxation is of 2 types- Physical and mental. For physical relaxation you sleep at night and body is charged. But for mental relaxation you need to meditate. Meditation is simple process of inhaling and thinking that your breath is going to heart, going to gall bladder, from gall bladder to lungs, from lungs to stomach and liver, then to small intestine, and from there to big intenstine. Thereafter feel as if the breath is going to kidneys and then urinary bladder. Before doing this close your eyes and start feeling as if your breath is moving in different parts of the body. During this process feel as if the breath is moving from one part of the body to another part of the body and you are a soul. Say to yourself, " I am soul and God is my creator." Slowly slowly you will start feeling relaxed. Every day 20 minutes practice will enable you feel relaxed mentally and your mental ability will start increasing. Your vision will grow. You will be able to move from gross body to subtle soul through mind.
This process will enable you to control your thoughts and senses from thinking any activity that can affect the society wrongly or human beings wrongly. You will be more humane mentally. You will see that you have gained good control on your mind and the mind is now less churlish.
Your reaction to the world and worldly things as well as trivial matters will be receding.
Major benefits of the meditation:
* You will feel relaxed
* You will react the moods and emotions of the others in a cool way
* You will feel that you have less anger, anguish and anxiety.
* You will feel that your relationship with others are getting better and better.
* You will develop a sense of concern for all around you.
* You will have a feeling that all of us are the sons and daughters of God.
For all this: Just sit at a peaceful place say room, bank of a river, lap of nature etc.
Close your eyes. Think as if you are a soul and repeat the words "Iam soul.
Body travels, soul transcends. So, why fear death. Death comes once in a life but fear of death goes on haunting for whole of life.
FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real.
Now you inhale through your nose and allow your breath go to your head.
* Say: hello eyes
* Say hello to your nose
*Say hello to your lips
*Say hello to your larynx
* Go on saying hello to all the organs of your body as detailed above.
When you will be saying hello to each and every organ you will find that these organs are being energised. This process practised continuously will enable your nervous system to remain cool during stressful situations too.

DIVINITY

DIVINE LAW

The divine law is that

 man must earn his bread

by labouring with his own hands.

He who eats without offering

sacrifice (Bread labour) eats stolen food.

According to Mahatma Gandhi

“If all worked for their bread,

distinction of rank would be obliterated.”

“How can a man who does not do body labour,

have the right to eat? He asks.”

HOW CAN I LEARN

SPIRITUAL MESSAGE

To commit mistakes is the only way to learn.

To move according to one's own understanding is the only way to grow.

If you are looking at somebody else to dictate to you,

you will never know what life is.

It has to be lived, and you have to follow your own small light.

says Osho, the Zen Master

SPIRITUALITY

TRUTH ABOUT SPIRITUALITY

In this piece “Spiritual wisdom” (Spectrum, Oct. 26) Randeep Wadhera writes, “you can be spiritual without being religious.” I can’t agree with this as one can’t be spiritual without being religious. An atheist , a disbeliever in religion, a savage or any person who despises religion can never be spiritual.

Such person may acquire high moral qualities but these are just natural conditions, which may be possessed even by those who deny the existence of God or hate religion. Many animals have a gentle disposition, and can be trained to become wholly peaceful and not to react savagely to chastisement, and yet we cannot call them human.

In the same way, a person who is entirely misguided and even has certain vices can exhibit good moral qualities. But in no way can be called a spiritual person. Hypnotism or mesmerism is not a synonym of spiritualism. Those who are transported into a trance by artificial means think that they have experienced spiritualism. Such people are utterly ignorant about spirituality.

Spirituality means enlightenment of soul and heart. It means realization of self and immersing one’s soul in the ocean of love of God. Spirituality minus God is only ritualism. So, mere acquisition of moral qualities does not bestow spiritual life upon a person. Spirituality can be attained only through the use of every moral quality in its proper place and on a proper occasion, and through treading faithfully on the way shown by God and through being wholly devoted to him.

I have borrowed these ideas about spirituality from the writings of the founder of the Ahmadiya Muslin Jamat Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian (Punjab), India..

As all oscillatory motions are periodic but all periodic motions are oscillatory, so all spiritual persons are religious, but all religious person are not spiritual or an irreligious person can never be spiritual though he may possess high moral qualities.

Belief in God is pre-condition to attain spirituality.
