Real Life

All that you have is this moment.
What will you do with your life?
Will you completely waste it?
On struggles, and conflicts and strife?

None of us are promised tomorrow.
We only have here and today.
Will you completely waste it?
You can't get it back once it's taken away.

And what of the persons your loving?
Do you take them for granted somehow?
Willl you completely waste it?
All that you fools disavow!

Do you follow the clear path of truth?
Or get lost in fields of the sordid and grey?
Will you completely waste it?
And have only regret of yesterday?

YES I'M ALIVE.

This shall be first poem on book #2 (which I have already started). The idea for this poem and the first line is credited to Dr. James Barbaria

I'm on a wire without a net,
Risking my own neck.
Nothing here is a sure bet.
But I'm standing tall!
Any moment I could fall.

I'm alive! I'm alive!
I'm soaring.
I'm alive! I'm alive!
Who said life is boring?

I may be shaking in my shoes
But there's nothing I can't do.
I'm more than flesh and bone.
I'm spirit too!

I'm alive! I'm alive!
I'm soaring.
I'm alive! I'm alive!
Who said life is boring?

I may bend but I won't break.
Fists are clenched; chest is tight.
I'm gonna try
with all my might
Because....

I'm alive! I'm alive!
I'm soaring.
I'm alive! I'm alive!
Who said life is boring?

Nothing here
can hold me down.
My spirits high
UP off the ground.

I'm alive! I'm alive!
I'm soaring.
I'm alive! I'm alive!
Who said life is boring?

COULD A LITTLE GLEAM BE ALL THAT IT WOULD SEEM

"Could a Little Gleam Be All That It Would Seem"

Please give me a little shimmer
for one whose lights
gone dimmer.
Could a little gleam
be all that it
would seem?

I, myself a bit artful
shall enjoy
a sprinkle of sparkle.
To set the mood just right
throw off a ray
of light.

The warmth from a candle's glow
shall have more softness
burning low.

Allow its radiance to be steady,
for it has flickered
enough already!

Remember, it was the light
from a special star
that the wise men
followed far.
