असली शिक्षा

 Real Education

* असली शिक्षा*

1.

REAL EDUCATION

Educate * Empower * Elevate

Education received in schools, colleges and universities is not complete until and unless we have developed a sense of ethical and moral living.

Sympathy and empathy are not taught but ought to be developed and focus of our learning should be developing Human Centric Solutions to the problems faced by humans throughout the world.

EDUCATION = INTELLIGENCE + CHARACTER.

Mahatma Gandhi - the father of nation - says:

Wealth is lost, nothing is lost,
Health is lost, something is lost,
Character is lost, everything is lost.

The learnings made in the schools, colleges and universities are like the beads of the garland but the beads can be turned into garland with solid thread. Spirituality and its development is that thread. Spirituality develops the human mind to cultivate kindness, sympathy and empathy for the pains of the living - be it humans, animals or birds. Environment is loved by the spiritual person.

So, develop spirituality to be more educated beyond schools, colleges and universities.

Pretensions, doubts, excuses are some of the hurdles faced by an individual on spiritual path. Right master with self-effort on the spiritual path leads to right path and destination.

Those who are spiritually enlightened serve the society in wider ways,

LETTER FRAMOM ABRAHAM LINCOLN TO HIS SON'S HEADMASTER

Altered version of
LETTER FROM ABRAHAM LINCOLN TO HIS SON’S TEACHER
 for easy understanding.

My son starts school today. It is all going to be strange and new to him for a while and I wish you would treat him gently. It is an adventure that might take him across continents.
All adventures that probably include wars, tragedy and sorrow.

To live this life will require faith, love and courage.

So, dear Teacher, will you please take him by his hand and teach him the things he will have to know, teaching him – but gently, if you can.

Teach him that for every enemy, there is a friend. He will have to know that all men are not just, that all men are not true.

But teach him also that for every scoundrel, there is a hero and that for every crooked politician, there is a dedicated leader.

Teach him if you can that 10 cents earned is of far more value than a dollar found.

Teach him in   school, teacher, it is far more honourable to fail than to cheat. Teach him to learn how to gracefully lose and enjoy winning when does win.

Teach him to be gentle with gentle people, tough with tough people.

Steer him away from envy if you can and teach him the secret of quiet laughter.

Teach him if you can  - how to laugh when he is sad.

Teach him there is no shame in tears.

Teach him there can be glory in failure and despair in success.

Teach him to scoff at cynics.

Teach him if you can the wonders of the books, but also give time to ponder the extreme mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun and flowers on a green hill.

Teach him to listen to every one, but teach him also to filter all that he hears on a screen of truth and take only the good that comes through.

Teach him to sell his talents and brains to highest bidder but never to put a price tag on his heart and soul.
Let him have the courage to be impatient, let him have the patience to be brave. Teach him to have sublime faith in himself, because then he will always have sublime faith in mankind, in God.

This is a big order, teacher. But see what best you can do. He is such a nice little boy and he is my son.

Attention reader:
If you have a little pretty daughter to send to school, please replace the word son to my little butterfly.  I call my daughter butterfly.

LETTER TO A TEACHER

Abrahm Lincoln’s letter
 to his son’s teacher.

He will have to learn, I know,
that all men are not just,
all men are not true,
But teach him also that
for every scoundrel there is a hero,
that for every selfish politician,
there is a dedicated leader…..
Teach him for every enemy there is a friend.

Teach him if you can that
10 cents earned is of far more value
than a dollar found.

Steer him away from envy,
if you can,
teach him the secret of
quiet laughter.

Let him learn early that
the bullies are easiest to lick…..
Teach him, if you can
the wonder of books……..

But also give him quiet time
to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky,
 bees in the sun,
and flowers on a green hillside.

In the school teach him,
it is far honourabale to fail
than to cheat…….

Teach him to have faith
in his own ideas,
even if everyone tells him
they are wrong………

Teach him to be gentle
with gentle people
and tough with the tough

Try to give my son
the strength not to follow the crowd

when everyone is getting on the band wagon……

Teach him to listen to all men………
but teach him also to filter
all he hears on a screen of truth
and take only the good
that comes through.

Teach him, if you can
how to laugh when he is sad….

Teach him there is no shame in tears,

Teach him to scoff at cynics
and to beware of too much sweetness.

Teach him to sell his brawn and
brain to the highest bidders
but never to put a price-tag
on his heart and soul.

Teach him to close his ears
 to howling mob
and to stand and fight
if he thinks he’s right.

Treat him gently,
but do not cuddle him,
because only test of fire
makes fine steel.

Let him have the courage
to be impatient…….
Let him have the patience to be brave

Teach him always to have
sublime faith in himself,
because only then he will have
sublime faith in mankind

This is a big order,
but  see what you can do……
He is such a fine fellow
my son!

EDUCATION LEADERSHIP

Shaping youth for tomorrow.
Rajesh Gill

EDUCATION is the backbone of any society, since it performs the vital functions of informing, socializing and civilizing the young minds that are gradually getting into the spaces, both private and public, where significant decisions are going to be made. In other words, it is this youth, the target group of any education system in a society, which shall be giving a shape to the future social system, including the economic, political and cultural. But as a matter of fact, the educational system comprising schools, colleges, universities and other technical institutions happens to be just one segment of the broader system that educates the young minds. The other segments include family, neighbourhood, media, market, religion, polity and so on. It is generally assumed that the spaces where our youth are imparted education are only in classrooms, with teachers at the steering, lading the process.

A few decades ago, these spaces no doubt comprised the most important segment out of all the others, the family and neighbourhood coming next, since the youth had little exposure to either market or media. Their interface with religion and polity was by and large mediated through the family. One the other hand, today’s young brigade has a direct, uninterrupted and continuous interface with market, media and polity, while the family and the school have been pushed to the background. Both education and market/media have youth as the most important target group but with a subtle difference.
So far as our country is concerned, it is liable to universalize education which is a national goal and for that the numbers matter the most. Having woked on school enrolment figures, the global pressures through quality control measures have forced India to enhance its enrolment ratio in higher education. This endeavour is being pursued by the country increasing the number of higher educational institutions all over the country, resulting into higher enrolment.
Going back to the issue, while the stakeholders in educational institutions, teachers being most pertinent, have no personal interest in educating the students, beyond completing (or not) the syllabi in the privacy of classrooms, the stakeholders in market and media successfully and aggressively reach out to the target youth. The inputs as well as incentives in both the ventures therefore are quite varied, differently motivated and ignited. The results are bound to be different too. Education in this sense thus is lackluster, frivolous, dispensable and uninteresting. What these institutions in fact are imparting is not education but mere information, without any context, value frame or relevance. Under these circumstances, the zeal with which the stakeholders in the corporate sector work, with commercial stakes lying high, has no match with their counterparts in the educational sector.
The consequence is a complete trivialization of education not only in its content but even its essentiality. If education is just information, one can have it through online programmes or open schools/universities, as per one’s own convenience. In fact, going to a particular school or college or university has primarily become a matte of status symbol. With a huge premium placed on the brands, that too the international ones, thanks to globalisation, one opts for a school or university, mainly for the tag that it carries. In such a system, one can very well understand the plight of a school or college situated in a remote rural area, attended by all those (including teachers as well) not having access to the better ones. How can one expect them to deliver quality education, when they too are restlessly waiting for an opportunity to move to the core, in an earnestness to join the bandwagon?
The most important question is, does education really imply dissemination of information only? What about the live experience of having a teacher in flesh and blood, who does not just pass on information but is ideally supposed to guide and direct the students not only towards their goals but even the means they should adopt. Has the teaching community completely surrendered before the market and media choosing the most convenient option? This is the reason why a teacher has lost the glory s/he had been enjoying through the ages. In order to actually educate the highly exposed, intelligent and difficult students, teachers have to be ahead of them in knowledge(not in information), communication, interpersonal skills and self-confidence. In the name of democracy and individualism, it has been foolish for teachers, especially in higher educational institutions, to throw away the authority that naturally goes with their profession. Yes, a teacher is supposed to be the greatest friend of his/her students, most trustworthy of all, but does that mean only gossiping, smoking and drinking with them, with a non-interfering attitude at a time when they need an advice? Respecting others’ privacy in no way implies a lack of empathy and concern, especially when the other (student in this case) desperately needs it. Even a robot can impart information, but only a human teacher is competent enough to contextualize the knowledge and deliver it to the young minds in an absolutely objective manner. (Ab)using the classroom for poisoning the young minds with a particular political ideology is no less than a  crime, for which not only the teachers but the whole society has to pay a huge price. Therefore, in the process of education, both means and ends are equally important. Not only what is being taught, but how it is taught makes all the difference.
It is imperative thus that education is not any kind of business; it is no business in fact. It is the most significant segment of a society, which makes or breaks the future of a society. With the commercialization taking the front seat through both the media and market, it is all the more important that the education system is revitalized, with the most competent(in knowledge and wisdom)  minds being entrusted in educating the young boys and girls just not towards making more and more money but developing critical abilities to shape a future society that is actually civilized. And for that, we certainly cannot afford to trivialize education!

SUCCESS

SURE SUCCESS TECHNIQUES   by Prof. P.K.Keshap

in Business / Entrepreneurship    (submitted 2011-07-07)

Human Brain is the engine of the train called body.
Brain is a mass of nerve cells and nerve fibres Body• s functions are performed by different parts of the brain.
Cerebrum -the largest part of the brain comprises of two hemispheres • technically each of the hemisphere is called cerebral cortex and in easy language • left brain and right brain.
Brain is also called grey matter and consists of 1500 crore neurons. These neurons interact with each other to perform the various functions • vision(seeing), smell(smelling), hear(hearing), taste(tasting), touch and body remains in active form.
Skull is the sheath which covers and protects the brain. Human curiosity to know who• ..what• ..when• .where• .why• .how• are quenched through the brain.
Brain and heart are the two organs that start working right before birth and go on working till the last breath of human being.
Heart waves are measured mechanically by ECG (Electro Cardiograph) and Brain waves are measured by EEG (Electro Encephalograph).
Outer parts of the brain have their own important functions. The corpus callosum is the nerve fibre that link two hemispheres i.e. left brain and right brain. The cerebellum helps to coordinate movement and control balance.
The thalamus is a relay station. It processes all sensory nerve impulses before passing them on to the cortex.
The hypothalamus controls body temperature, blood pressure and the pituitary glands. The hind brain, which consists of the medulla oblongata, the pons and the cerebellum, controls the heart, lungs and digestive system.
Have we ever wondered why some people are more intelligent and others not that intelligent? Why some students learn faster than others? Why is examination not a fear for some students while others dread it?
Just think. Can blunt pencil write? No. Not at all. You need to sharp it to write on a paper. Same is with the brain. You need to sharpen your brain through concentration so that your imagination power may develop exponentially. It is all in your own hands. No destiny. Increase focusing and improve reading habits, you will be successful in exam, competitions, business, family management or life.
Have you ever thought why am I not achieving in life what I wish to achieve? Failures are the teachers. Pain is teacher. Keep a Life Book. Write on it when you fail and how you feel when others criticize, reprimand or reject you. It is learning from your all these failures when handled properly will make you successful.
Thomas Alva Edison- the inventor of electricity • always focused on his job and remained busy in inventing. One of his neighbours used to go and come from fields 2-3 times. He used to ask one question to Edison without fail • Mr. Edison you have failed 1001 times, 1002 times, 1003 times and so on • • .• It hurt and pinched Edison a lot. But he kept on working on his invention. Edison succeeded once and his invention i.e. electricity increased the day of human beings by 3 times. Before his invention human beings• day started when sun rose and day ended when sun went down. Who knows about that neighbour now. But everybody enjoys his invention i.e. electricity.
So, keep on working hard and you will be successful. There is nothing between you and your success except your hard work and smart work.
Following works for better performance in exams, competitions or business:
- Good Eating Habit - Food is fuel to body and mind. Stale food stales mind.
- Fresh Fruit • a piece a day according to season.
- A glass of warm water with lime + honey or simple lime.
- 8-18 glasses of water daily.
- Listening to voiceless music i.e. Mind Power Music.
- Choosing what to read and what to leave. All books are not worthy of reading.
- Watching, entertaining, inspiring and encouraging useful programmes on TV.
- Reading extra material on internet and watching encouraging Videos on you TV.
- Surrounding yourself with encouraging people and winners.
- Avoiding and ignoring negative and discouraging people and friends. They are energy sappers.
- Using mind maps for understanding any difficult chapter or topic. Make mind maps and paste these mind maps before your eyes on the wall. Stand and look at these mind maps. Your mind will start thinking and making pictures of the topic in your mind. Success will be easy.
- Pray and ask God • Give me strength to be a better human being, to achieve what I want to achieve.
- Preparing Daily routine sheets and evaluating them to observe whether your habits
match your goal or not.
- To make • TO DO LIST• and follow it.
- To apportion an hour• s study: 20 minutes reading, 20 minutes visualizing what you have read closing your eyes and 20 minutes writing to see whether you have grasped what you have read.
- Listen to those who are worthy of listening. Avoid verbal arguments, they generate heat and it disturbs mental peace and depletes positive energy.
- Learn to ignore excessive criticism. Criticism is like medicine. Less does not cure, excess affects immunity.
- BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF.
- Listen time and again to my TV interview on YouTube just below this search result. Follow the techniques told in the interview.
- Take full sleep and set daily goals to achieve in your desired result. Small steps
make you scale a mountain like
Himalaya. Dare to take first step. Keep on taking
steps and success will be yours.
- Read motivating stories or comments on daily basis. Read jokes before going to bed.
- Plan for tomorrow before going to bed in writing.
- Direct your thinking process to conceive and believe what you want to achieve.
- Be your own friend.
- Be alone and close your eyes to reflect upon what you are doing.
FOLLOWING THIS REGIMEN, SUCCESS IS SURE.
ADVICE:
Follow your dreams until they become realities.
Every obstacle is coated with an opportunity. It took
Columbus 18 years to find a financer and he discovered America. Who knows the financer but people know Columbus.
If you are not interested, nothing is interested.
BELIEVE: A person can achieve anything in life by harnessing his powers which are within the person not outside the person. EVERYBODY IS GIFTED, SOME DO NOT OPEN THE GIFT PACK THROUGHOUT LIFE. A boy at the age of 16 listed 147 things he wanted to do. Wonder, by the age of 47 he achieved ALL and had to re-make his list for doing more things. This is the wonder of planning and acting. Just thinking does not work, work works. Avoid LOSERS, company WINNEERS.
If the ship has to find new unknown places and discover new islands, she needs to move from the harbour for long. Same is with humans. A person needs to leave comfort zone to find better opportunities and achieve higher goals in life. Success is trade off between good, better and best. For achieving better, we need to leave good. And for being Best, we need to leave good and better. We have competition with none but ourselves.
A sculptor was sculpting a statue and another same statue was lying by his side. A passerby came and kept on watching the sculptor. After watching sometime, the passerby asked the sculptor • You need two statues of same shape.• • No• was the answer. • Then why are you sculpting this statue? It is same.• • The nose of the old statue is bit broken,• sculptor replied.
After a pause, the passerby enquired, • Where do you want this statue placed?•
• There,• pointing towards a wall which was 25 feet high, Surprised, the passerby remarked, • Who can know that the nose of the statue is bit broken?• Sculptor looked at him, smiled and then answered, • I know that nose is broken.• Passerby went by murmuring • This man is mad.•
Same applies to us. Only we know the quality of work we do. Only we can improve it. We should not need any evaluator to point out what is wrong with our work. Only we can improve our work to be good, better and best. Excellence comes from practice and learning from mistakes.
This posting has been written, re-written many times so that when you read it should help you to improve .
- When you LOSE, don't LOSE lesson.
- Always feel good by doing exercise, deep breathing and reading some joke book or watching comedy serials.
- Body needs oxygen which is called Prana - the life. Deep breathing is the way to increase oxygen and energise body. It helps in reducing laziness and procrastination. It activates body and mind.
Generally, there are two reasons for failure. 1. Lack of right guidance, counseling and mentoring by an expert 2. Lack of concentration and following right routine.
How right guidance improves the performance? Ms. Dyvyadarshini the topper of IAS 2011 told in many interviews that she read many books, worked very hard and appeared in IAS but could not make it. Next year she sought counseling, guidance and mentoring from a Professor and topped IAS. Less labour better result. A student of MAT (entrance test for MBA), approached me and asked which coaching centre is better. She was suggested a few books and no coaching from any centre. She scored 90.83%ile and has done her MBA and now serving in a Bank.
For reason No. 2,Yoga, meditation and concentration methods like focussing eyes on the tip of nose or focussing eyes on the tip of pencil from a distance are helpful. Mechanical apparatus also help in increasing concentration. These methods make you more sharp, alert and agile so that you may learn more in less time. It is the speed of reaction that makes a participant 1st, 2nd and 3rd in a race- be it an exam, sport or business.

AIM OF EDUCATION

The aim of education should be rather to teach us how to think, than what to think, rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men.

EDUCATION LOAN

EDUCATION FOR ALL. THE ELIGIBILE (6 -14 YEARS OF AGE) CHILDREN CAN NOW SEEK EDUCATION FREE OF ANY FEE UNDER RIGHT TO EDUCATION ENACTED BY GOVT. OF INDIA. EDUCATION IS LIGHT. ILLITERACY IS DARKNESS.

Government of Indian in consultation with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Indian Banker's Association (IBA) has framed a Comprehensive Loan Scheme to ensure that no deserving student is deprived of higher education for want of finances. The new scheme covers all types of courses in India or abroad including professional courses in schools and colleges.

The salient features of the scheme are :
1. The scheme envisages loans upto Rs. 7.50 lacs for studies in India and upto Rs. 15.00 lacs abroad.
2. For loans upto Rs. 4.00 lacs no margins or collatoral is required and the interest rate is not to exceed the Prime Lending Rate(PLR). For loans above Rs. 4.00 lacs the interest rate will not exceed PLR plus 1 per cent.
3. Loans are to be repaid in a period of 5 to 7 years with a grace period of one year from the date of completion.
TAX BENEFIT:
Loan Repayment up to Rs. 40000/- is deductible under section 80E of Income Tax Act for a period of 8 years. This deduction is available for the full time professional or other courses.
Reserve Bank of India has instructed all commercial banks to sanction theses loans.\

So, now education is easier to pursue.

In another milestone in the history of India, Unique Identity Card is being introduced. The project is likely to be completed by the end of this year 2010. This unique card will be enough to avail the various welfare schemes of the government. This card has been renamed as "Aadhar" meaning foundation.

In another unique feat by human soul, television is showing a person practising "hath yoga". The 82 years old man has not taken any food or drunk any water for the past over 65 years. 35 renowned doctors have put the man under observation from 22nd April, 2010 to 7th May, 2010 to find out how he has managed to live for so many years without food and water. The doctors from NASA and other countries have come to Hyderabad to observe the old man. The observing doctors conducted a Press Conference and declared that his brain analysis (MRI) has revealed that his brain is as good as that of 25 years' boy. "This is miracle," they say.
The man is calm, quiet, happy and has faith in infinite power of soul. This is "hatth yoga". This proves that man is not body but soul. He says that he gets the power to live from one drop of nectar that drops from his "pituatary gland." Television channels are regularly showing him as agile and awake under observation.

TRUE EDUCATION

It is no use

giving children just education.

You should give them joy.

If you want children to grow well,

try and give them as much joy as possible.

Merely giving the so-called education

is like putting

manure at the roots of a tree

which is

without a sunlight.

The sun is strong,

the rain is plentiful

and i

in spite of the goats,

the forests grow.

Likewise,

in spite of errors of parents and teachers,

children flourish.”
