Subject: ENEMIES OF MENTAL PEACE
ENEMIES OF MENTAL PEACE

Greed,

lust,

jealousy,

envy,

anger,

pride

and

egoism

are

the six enemies of peace.

Slay these enemies with the sword of dispassion, discrimination and non-attachment.
You will enjoy perpetual peace.

Anger, greed, jealousy, hatred are all enemies of peace.
Develop good will, co-operation, mercy, compassion, non-resistance or non-retalition to injuries done to you, forgiveness, contenment, nobilty and cosmic love.

Perfect security and good peace cannot be had in this world, because it is a relative plane.

All objects are conditioned in time, space and causation.
They are perishable. Where they can you look for full security and perfect peace?

You can find this in the immortal Self.

He is an embodiment of peace. He is beyond time, space and causation.
Jealousy is an enemy of peace. It is also another canker that consumes a man. Do not allow it to grow in you. Curb it.
Nip it in the bud. It is nothing but petty-mindedness.

Jealousy can be eradicated by developing the opposite quality-nobility or magnanimity. See God in all. Jealousy will vanish. Develop contentment.

Through Sat-bhavana (Good Feelings) attain knowledge of the Self. Then ignorance, egoism, anger, jealousy, etc., will vanish. You will enjoy the inefficiable peace of the Self, you will ever remain drowned in the ocean of peace and supreme bliss.

PEACE

If you have peace within yourself,

you have nothing to worry at all.

“He that is in peace is not suspicious of any.

But he that is dis-contented and troubled

is tossed with diverse suspicions.

He is neither quiet himself,

nor suffereth others to be quiet.”

HIGHEST BLISS

Which is the highest bliss?

There is no fire like lust and

No crime like hatred.

There is no ill like weak body

and no bliss highest than peace.

PRAYER PAYS

Ajay Pandey
innervoice@hindustantimes.com

Prayer is the core of every religion. A moment of prayer is a moment of isolation, self-realisation and deep introspection. It makes one feel that no existence in this world is more than a drop in the ocean.

When you pray, not only do you accept the supremacy of God, you also surrender yourself in his service and seek his blessings. This is another subtle way to get rid of one’s ego and become more humane and accommodating.

Even if one is praying with so many people, he is actually not a part of any collective phenomenon . He is more like a discrete unit that has its own identity in an apparent continuum.

The gleam of hope an individual may be harboring in the gloomiest of times has its foundation emanating from faith and prayer. Those words uttered in private have an indefinable strength and the capacity to travel fast, very fast indeed.

In fact, it’s rightly believed that neither a bullet, nor sound, nor even light can march the pace of which a simple, pure, prayer travels.

It reaches God even before the individual says it.

It truly establishes a heart-to-heart contact between a human being and the supreme power.

No amount of external peace can take care of the turbulence within. The inner peace looks for solace through different instruments and mediums, and prayer is surely one of them. The responses to agonies of the past, the turmoil of present and the hopes linked to our future, all find a silently flowing expression in prayer and purpose of life starts become clearer and clearer.

Prayer might assume different forms but all forms, though different in expression, have the same objective – to bow to that supreme. A prayer is a strong weapon available to human beings to seek answers to their queries that more often than not appear to be baffling.

It’s our moral duty to inculcate the importance of faith and prayer in our coming generations because this is wherein lies the hope for the whole of human civilization for peaceful co-existence.

PRAYER IS A FREE CALL 2 GOD. No battery, no charging, no network problem, endless talk time. So pray to God and start your day. You will really feel fresh, happy and enlightening day by day.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE 2009

YES, YOU CAN

Don’t Think You Cannot,
Think You Can.

Dear Friend,

You can start to maximize your mind power simply by understanding how your mind works and how you store and access information. In fact, you are gifted with the ability to develop your brain in order to become able to do more, have more and be more.
In other words, you must know how your mind works and how it accesses information effortlessly, how to programme your mind. You have to remain conscious of the fact that your mind is like an air traffic controller and takes in any information and directs it according to its current knowledge.

Without your being aware, new information is stored the moment it comes in – each time you access it, the more hard-wired it becomes.
One thing should never be lost track of – mind and body constantly interact. It is your mind which regulates even your breathing pattern which you are always unmindful of. It is your mind which actually ensures that what your heart does not skip a beat. You can have an idea of the immense power of mind whenever you perform a habitual but complex task without conscious effort on your part. For example, when you multiply two figures, you draw upon your memory of multiplication tables. It is done easily and effortlessly, because you had had to repeat them as a child for countless times to get them by heart.

In other words, keep doing a thing till you get mastery over it. Your mind has infinite potentiality. It is simply your will to do a task which matters. Never think that anything is impossible. With a positive mind you can readily access the information you have stored. Training and exercise are tools to programme your mind and a way that can use it when it is needed.

It is power of mind that has done wonders by winning the most coveted prize in the world, the Nobel Peace Prize for the US President, Mr. Barack Obama. The committee attached “special importance to Obama’s vision and work for a world without nuclear weapons” and said he had created “ a new climate in international politics.” Head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Thorbjorn Jagland said Mr. Obama was honoured “for his extraordinary effort to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” and added that it was “ a unanimous decision”. The committee said it was seeking to encourage Mr. Obama’s ideals rather than recognize concrete results. The jury, in fact hailed Mr. Obama’s “extraordinary” effort in international diplomacy and to hasten nuclear disarmament.
Wishing and working for your success.
THINK YOU CAN

You have powers
You never dreamt of
You can do things
You never thought
You could do.
There are no limitations
In what you can do
Except the limitations
In your own mind
As to what
You cannot do
Don’t think you cannot.
Think you can.

PEACE OR VIOLENCE?

I want to lead
a peaceful life:
Kuki

Ranjist Singh Gill, alias Kuki, accused in the murder case of Lalit Makan and his wife in 1985, says he wants to rebuild his life.. “To be in jail for 17 long years was a harrowing experience. I am a totally changed man and want to lead a peaceful life”, said Kuki who was released on parole last Friday.

A resident of Kitchlu Nagar here, Kuki got parole to complete his M.Sc. in plant breeding at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) under Dr. Navtej Singh Bains from the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, PAU.

Talking to the Tribune, he said he was thankful to the government, who took interest in his case. With young wife Sarabjot Kaur sitting next to him, Kuki said it was a traumatic experience for two decades and he did not want to go back to the dingy cell of jail again. “I am close to 50. I think I have suffered enough for the crime I committed 24 years back. It was an offshoot of an ongoing frustration among Punjabis in 1984. I want to restore my dignity now,” he said with a heavy voice.

On asking about students standing by him when he was sent back to jail recently, Kuki said he was moved by the gesture of the students who were 20-30 years younger to him. “But they should not have boycotted classes. We can sort out things by initiating dialogue. I really do not want that youngsters should fall prey to violence as I have suffered enough for being violent. "
He said he was thankful to Avantika, daughter of Lalit Makan, who stood by him and appealed for his clemency to the Chief Minister of Delhi. In his message to the young generation, Kuki said frustration could lead to violence, but youth should be strong enough to overcome all hurdles in a non-violent manner.

On getting the degree, he said he had submitted his theses to PAU authorities and was waiting for viva to be conducted soon.

Dear readers,

We must desist from violence and follow the path of non-violence whatever be the cost. Forgive and forget method works here. Hate speech and mental hate against any one belonging TO any community is dealt severely by law. Law works for all as an equal deterrent. Years of life spent in jail for a crime can never be recalled at any cost. Learn to Be Patient in behaviour and save those precious years. Learn to love all as we the human beings are the sons and daughters of ONE LORD who can be remembered as Waheguru, Allah, Bhagwan, Lord Christ or by any other name.
