Be Happy- 10 things to avoid

Hotwire
Sometimes the route to happiness depends more on what you don’t do.
Happiness–in your business life and your personal life–is often a matter of subtraction, not addition.
Consider, for example, what happens when you Stop doing the following 10 things:
1. Blaming
People make mistakes. Employees don’t meet your expectations. Vendors don’t deliver on time.
So you blame them for your problems. But you’re also to be blamed. Maybe you didn’t provide enough training. Maybe you didn’t build in enough of a buffer. Maybe you asked too much, too soon.
Taking responsibility when things go wrong instead of blaming others isn’t masochistic, it’s empowering-because then you focus on doing things better or smarter next time. And when you get better or smarter, you also get happier.
2. Impressing
No one likes you for your clothes, your car, your possessions, your title, or your accomplishments. Those are all “things.” People may like your things; but that doesn’t mean they like you.
Sure, superficially they might seem to, but superficial is also insubstantial, and a relationship that is not based on substance is not a real relationship.
Genuine relationships make you happier, and you’ll only form genuine relationships when you stop trying to impress and start trying to just be yourself.
3. Clinging
When you’re afraid or insecure, you hold on tightly to what you know, even if what you know isn’t particularly good for you. An absence of fear or insecurity isn’t happiness: It’s just an absence of fear or insecurity.
Holding on to what you think you need won’t make you happier; letting go so you can reach for and try to earn what you want will. Even if you don’t succeed in earning what you want, the act of trying alone will make you feel better about yourself.
4. Interrupting
Interrupting isn’t just rude. When you interrupt someone, what you’re really saying is, “I’m not listening to you so I can understand what you’re saying; I’m listening to you so I can decide what I want to say.”
Want people to like you? Listen to what they say. Focus on what they say. Ask questions to make sure you understand what they say. They’ll love you for it–and you’ll love how that makes you feel.
5. Whining
Your words have power, especially over you. Whining about your problems makes you feel worse, not better. If something is wrong, don’t waste time complaining. Put that effort into making the situation better. Unless you want to whine about it forever, eventually you’ll have to do that. So why waste time? Fix it now.
Don’t talk about what’s wrong. Talk about how you’ll make things better, even if that conversation is only with yourself. And do the same with your friends or colleagues. Don’t just be the shoulder they cry on.
Friends don’t let friends whine–friends help friends make their lives better.
6. Controlling
Yeah, you’re the boss. Yeah, you’re the titan of industry. Yeah, you’re the small tail that wags a huge dog.
Still, the only thing you really control is you. If you find yourself trying hard to control other people, you’ve decided that you, your goals, your dreams, or even just your opinions are more important than theirs.
Plus, control is short term at best, because it often requires force, or fear, or authority, or some form of pressure–none of those let you feel good about yourself.
Find people who want to go where you’re going. They’ll work harder, have more fun, and create better business and personal relationships. And all of you will be happier.
7. Criticizing
Yeah, you’re more educated. Yeah, you’re more experienced. Yeah, you’ve been around more blocks and climbed more mountains and slayed more dragons. That doesn’t make you smarter, or better, or more insightful.
That just makes you you: unique, matchless, one of a kind, but in the end, just you. Just like everyone else–including your employees.
Everyone is different: not better, not worse, just different. Appreciate the differences instead of the shortcomings and you’ll see people–and yourself–in a better light.
8. Preaching
Criticizing has a brother. His name is Preaching. They share the same father: Judging.
The higher you rise and the more you accomplish, the more likely you are to think you know everything–and to tell people everything you think you know.
When you speak with more finality than foundation, people may hear you but they don’t listen. Few things are sadder and leave you feeling less happy.
9. Dwelling
The past is valuable. Learn from your mistakes. Learn from the mistakes of others. Then let it go.
Easier said than done? It depends on your focus. When something bad happens to you, see that as a chance to learn something you didn’t know. When another person makes a mistake, see that as an opportunity to be kind, forgiving, and understanding. In return, you will be happy. Try it!
The past is just training; it doesn’t define you. Think about what went wrong, but only in terms of how you will make sure that, next time, you and the people around you will know how to make sure it goes right.
10. Fearing
We’re all afraid: of what might or might not happen, of what we can’t change, or what we won’t be able to do, or how other people might perceive us.
So it’s easier to hesitate, to wait for the right moment, to decide we need to think a little longer or do some more research or explore a few more alternatives. Meanwhile days, weeks, months, and even years pass us by. And so do our dreams.
Don’t let your fears hold you back. Whatever you’ve been planning, whatever you’ve imagined, whatever you’ve dreamed of, get started on it today.
If you want to start a business, take the first step. If you want to change careers, take the first step. If you want to expand or enter a new market or offer new products or services, take the first step.
Put your fears aside and get started. Do something. Do anything, that will make you happy.
Otherwise, today is gone. Once tomorrow comes, today is lost forever. Today is the most precious asset you own–and is the one thing you should truly fear wasting.

GROW YOUR POWER

DISCOVER YOUR UNLIMITED INNER POWER
CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Friday, May 29th, 2009
What can you do to make the best choices?
Be aware that you always have a choice.

And, each choice that you make has power—
the power to expand you or limit you.
Sometimes the opportunities for choice are not always obvious.

It’s often these situations, when the choice is not obvious, that
you have a great opportunity to increase your personal power.

Jose Stevens, author of many great books on shamanism, suggests
asking yourself the questions below when you’re at a point where
you’re just not sure what to do.

* Is it serving you or are you doing it to please others and get
their approval?

* Is it moving you to a better situation where you can be more
yourself?

* Is it coming from a connection to Spirit, a force higher than you
or is it from a calculation of the rational mind that is limited?

* Will it help you experience personal growth? Does it feel
expansive or limiting?

* Is it practical without compromising who you are at the core?

Sometimes the choice you have is simply to change how you
react,
judge,
 accept
or take action
about something that’s out of your
control.

You’ll be empowered when you consciously choose your attitude and
actions in the direction of expansion. No one can take that power
away from you.

Positive choices are expansive and will connect you with a higher
force.

Negative choices are constrictive and will limit you.

You can choose to be happy or to be miserable. You can choose to
be satisfied or dissatisfied with your life. You can choose to be
judgmental or have an open mind and heart.

To Powerful Choices,
Mary

Travel Items Checklist: 10 Things I Never Travel Without

by Celes on May 31, 2013 10:46 pm | Read Online | Discuss

Flight
Quick Note: We have 28 participants registered for the anti-procrastination course this Sunday (June 2) and all ready to roll ahead! :D I’m accepting just two more participants before closing registration. As with all classes on PE, I’m not intending to conduct this course again after the first run. So sign up for the class NOW and learn how to bust procrastination permanently. See you guys on June 2! :D
Are you a frequent traveler? I am. Being an avid traveler, I’ve learned from experience that there are certain things I should always travel with because they make my life so much better. This is a list of my personal travel must-haves; use it as your personal checklist when traveling!

1. Universal Power Adapter

Travel Adapter
Different country clusters use different power socket heads. For example, countries in the European Union use a circle-shaped two-pin plug (see below), while United States uses a rectangular-shaped two-pin plug (see further below).
Travel Adapter - European Union Plug
Travel Adapter - United States Plug

Hence, you need a universal power adapter to use your power chargers in other countries—the adapter makes it possible to connect your electric device to other types of power sockets. You can get such adapters in any D.I.Y. or appliance store.
Here’s a handy chart of plug adapter shapes by country: http://www.europlugs.com/Design_Review_Polices/Plug_Adapter_Country_Chart.htm

2. International Debit Card

Credit/Debit Card
With an international debit card, you can withdraw money at any ATM machine in the world at a nominal fee. (I use the DBS Debit Card powered by Visa which charges $5 SGD for every withdrawal, regardless of the amount.) Not only that, you can use the card just like a credit card, except that the amount is directly deducted from your savings account rather than put on credit.
The nominal withdrawal fee is a huge plus over credit cards where you are subjected to cash advance charges and high interest rates. I was once forced to withdraw money in London using a credit card because I was running low on cash, and was charged an exorbitant fee due to the interest rate! Never again would I withdraw money using my credit card again.
Walk-in to your local bank and ask about international debit cards. I got mine in just five minutes and it made my recent Africa Trip so convenient because I no longer had to worry about ensuring I have enough cash on hand.

3. Ear Plugs

Ear Plugs
When traveling, there are times of long commute (such as on the bus, train, or plane) which are perfect for catching a few winks. However, just because you want to sleep doesn’t mean the environment will be conducive for sleep. I often encounter screaming kids and chatty adults who make it hard to get any rest at all.
My solution? Ear plugs. They may not block out 100% of the noise, but they are the next best thing to sleeping in a noise-free environment.
Check out ear plugs on Amazon:

4. Sleeping Mask

Sleeping Mask
Sleeping masks help you to get a sound sleep in a lit environment). I used to think that they don’t matter; but after using them, I realize that I do get a sound sleep when I have a sleeping mask on.
Some airlines like Qatar actually offer it as part of their in-flight amenities and you can keep that for future use. In any case, you can also buy one at an affordable rate. Check out this Dream Essentials Sweet Dreams Contoured Sleep Mask ($9.95 only) which comes with ear plugs and a carry pouch.

5. Local Currency

Local Currency
No matter how many credit/cards you have, it’s always good to have some local currency on hand. Some shops simply don’t accept cards while some shops may have minimum order amounts before cards can be used. (In Singapore, many shops have minimum orders of $10 or $20 SGD for credit card usage.)
Go to your local money changer and get your money changed before you go. Some changers offer better rates than others, so do your research first if you are planning to change large amounts of money. For those of you in Singapore, Money changes at Mustafa (at Little India MRT) and The Arcade (at Raffles Place MRT) offer pretty good rates.

6. Travel Kits for Toiletries

Miniature Toiletries
Instead of packing and repacking your toiletries like skincare, hair care, and dental items every time you travel, why not have separate travel kits? This means having travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, tooth brush, tooth paste, facial foam, and so on all packed in your luggage and ready to go whenever you travel. This way, you no longer have to pack these stuff whenever you travel.
Even if you stay in places where such amenities are provided, it helps to have such toiletries available. For example, there was once I was in a hotel which didn’t provide hair conditioner (weird). I had to go all the way to the mall to get a bottle of conditioner as my hair is quite dry and needs it; otherwise it becomes highly tangled during/after shower.

7. Facial Masks

Facial Masks
(This item is specific to females, though there are metrosexual males who put on masks as well! My boyfriend is an example. :D )
I like facial masks because they are fast and easy. Take a mask, put it on for 10–15 minutes, take it off, and you are done. A quick pick-me-up for the skin which is especially useful when you are on the plane (which can be drying for your skin) and when you are on the go and don’t want to fiddle around with an elaborate skincare regime.

8. Passport, Visa, and Travel Itinerary/Receipts

Passport
Passport—goes without saying. Perhaps the more useful point to ensure your passport is not within six months of expiry—airlines will not let you check in otherwise.
For visa, make sure you look up the visa requirements for the country you are traveling to. If you require a visa, budget sufficient time to get the visa before you travel. Visa HQ is your one-stop spot to check visa requirements.
Having your travel itinerary and booking receipts for your airline and accommodation on hand makes it easy for you while traveling.

9. Notebook and Pen

Notebook and Pen
Last but not least, I can never travel without my notebook and pen. There are times when I run out of battery for my laptop while commuting, when I want to brainstorm on ideas, or when I simply want to quickly pen down some thoughts and ideas, and these are times when my notebook and pen come in handy.
For you, your notebook can serve as a travel log. Not only that, traveling makes for a great opportunity for self-reflection. Use your notebook to jot down your reflections on self and life and possible plans for your life moving forward post the travel.

QUERY

Dear international friends and legal luminaries,

Here is a query. Kindly clarify by giving answer as comment.

1. I am lover of humans and am law-abiding citizen.
2. I am an Indian.
3. I believe : One Earth One Humanity and hence all the humans have the right to see other parts of the planet Earth and visit other countries.
4. Generally, less educated people wish to travel and visit other countries but visa authorities have to refuse visa as they are not thoroughly known to the background of these people.
5. I am on internet and well educated professor.
6. I take one affidavit from these less educated people whom I know well for many years. In the affidavit, they state that  they are law abiding, have good character and have never been convicted by any court of law and no suit is pending before any court.
7. I do this out  of love and affection for them FREE of cost and the fact that no money has been paid for this.
8.Against their affidavit, I execute an affidavit with a validity date say 30 days, 60 days or 90 days. The visa authorities check my profile on internet and issue the visa.
9. The beneficiary comes back within that stipulated period back to India. Their affidavit is accompanied by legal Govt. documents' photocopy like passport, driving licence, or voter card.

Now Kindly guide me.

Is this act of mine legal or illegal? Ethical it is as this serves humans without any financial consideration.
I am doing this out of love and affection and it may not land me in a big problem over a period of time. Hence this query is floated for the international fraternity. Life is a gift of God and once only. All Govt. need visitors. So, kindly guide.

Pencil and you

Shared by Motivational Memo Newsletter from Australia.

Dear Prof,

The pencil maker took the pencil aside just before putting it into the pencil case. There are 5 things you need to know', he told the pencil ' before I send you into the world. Always remember them, never forget and you will become the best pencil you can be:-

Here they are:-

1. You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be guided by your parents, teachers and mentors.

2. You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you will need it to become a better pencil.

3. You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

4. The most important part of you will always be what is inside.

5. On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the contions, you must continue to write.

The pencil understood, promised to remember and went into the pencil case with purpose in its heart.

 10 Steps to Manifesting Anything
By Jason & Skye Mangrum
Excerpt from
Uberman! Almost Super Human
Imagine if you could use the power of your mind to manifest money into your life.

Sound far-fetched?

It's easier than you might be willing to believe.

But your mind-pattern (or belief system) tells you this isn't so... you've probably tried before and failed, and thus convinced yourself that "money does not come out of thin-air!"

It's much easier to manifest money when you're not thinking of money... but instead, all the things you can buy with money. Forget the "middle-man" for a moment, and focus on the object of your desire.

I'm going to reveal a unique method by which anyone can easily and assuredly attain money and be able to sustain it... and watch it grow into even greater amounts of wealth and prosperity over time.

What I'm revealing to you right now, is the Science and Art of causing reality to conform to Will. And while it isn't accepted among the "Scientific Community" as such, your own experiments will prove beyond any shadow of a doubt, that you not only create your own reality... You can control it.

1. Pick one object that you would like to manifest into the physical plane.
Start small, and as your powers of focus and concentration increase, move onto larger objects. At first, you will be fighting against your left-brained "ego" which is hard-wired into your mind-pattern that tells you these things are not possible... you don't create your reality and cannot control it. This is a lie.

2. Write down the statement that calls forth the energy into the container... the words "I COMMAND" are very powerful and similar to giving commands to a computer. Anything after the words "I COMMAND" will create the form in the
likeness of its own image. (for example: "I COMMAND my electricity bill PAID in full before July 31st of this year!" etc.)

3. Now that the Universal Energy is contained, it must be held in place. This is accomplished through focus, concentration and detail. Concentrate and solidify this energy by creating a symbol that represents it. For instance, take your electric bill and mark-out the amount due with a pen or pencil, and write "0.00" just above it. Then place it back into its envelope, and in big letters write, "PAID IN FULL BEFORE JULY 31st!" – This is a symbolic "ceremony" that gives the Universal Energy a definite purpose – to have the electric bill paid before July 31st.

4. The more attention to detail you give, the stronger the force becomes. For this reason, place your symbol in a location where you'll see it and be reminded of your intent, every day. With purpose, your symbol now gains in "intelligence" and begins its descent into the physical.

5. On the page with your command statement, write down as many direct and in-direct benefits you can brainstorm, seeing each of these things come to pass in your mind's eye as you write.

6. Create a perfect scenario of how this manifestation will show up in your life and what you will do as a result of its appearance. Tell a story. Write it down. Make it as detailed and vivid as possible... each new effort brings you another step closer to manifesting your object. (But don't be attached to how it manifests... it may be completely different from your story – but you're giving it "life" and intelligence as you write – thereby strengthening the force to be controlled)

7. Next... write a single question: "What are the possibilities in which this can manifest now?" Be still. Remain quiet, and listen. You will soon pick-up on Thoughts, ideas and theories that will tell you several possible ways the object of your desire can manifest into your life... now. (Remember, energy is not limited by space or time, until controlled and contained!)

8. When the ideas cease and the mind is exhausted of all possible avenues for manifestation to take place, stop. Take the paper and fold until small enough to fit in your wallet, or inside your purse. The concentrated energy of these words
bring greater strength to focus and direct the Universal Energy... the conduit is you. Energy is neither created nor destroyed, but transformed through the Mind. Remember – focus, concentration and detail form matter.

9. From this point, allow your symbol to "freeze" the manifestation into existence
and remove any remaining or reoccurring negative beliefs to be dissolved by the Light of Reason. This is symbolized by your subconscious as illuminating white-light. You can cast white-light around any negative Thought with the intent to do so, and feel it dissolve back into its pure form. (Here is wisdom: Light Illuminates the Darkness!)

10. Remain completely un-attached to how your manifestation occurs in the physical. Rest assured that through the phenomenon of Synchronicity, your Thought will manifest at the best possible time and place for your greatest benefit... even if you don't understand why in that moment.

NOTE: The more programming your mind-pattern contains to disbelieve your ability and birthright to create your own reality, the stronger force will be required to reprogram your mind and be successful at manifesting the object of your desire. It is for this reason that I'm going to divulge another secret.

Almost Super HumanIn truth, there is no external reality. The latest research into Quantum Physics is now proving this to be true. All reality filters through the Mind to be perceived.
This , yet devastatingly powerful external/internal mind-switch can bring you into direct alignment with God / Your Higher Self / Your Holy Guardian Angel / Illumination. Enlightenment.

SELF-DISCOVERY

SPIRIT TRIUMPHS.
SELF-VICTORY.

I undertook 50 km holy journey on foot.

A great feat to build my confidence at the age of 55+.

Doctors say you can live another 45 years without any fear as you do not have any problem like high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure and any other age related problem. With this journey of 50 Km walk, your internal organs have strengthened and you are fine.

Had a lot of time to empathise and reflect upon what is life,

who am I and how am I related to great scheme of the creator.

I slept on Earth and watched the movement of the sky. Really a wonderful and pleasing observation.

Soon you will read in my blog, I  undertook 160 km journey on foot from Ludhiana to Holy City Amritsar via Jagraon and Moga.

I'm sure you've heard that before.

And so you try to believe but all those negative thoughts, fears and
doubts get in the way. Instead of believing that you can...
You believe that you can't. You've got all
kinds of reasons why you can't succeed. But you can - when you

 All
you have to do is follow the steps I outline
Your beliefs shape your life.

Your subconscious mind picks up on your

If they're positive beliefs you'll have more success, more

If they're negative beliefs, you'll end up with more struggle, less

CREATIVE VISUALIZATION

Shri Vijay Kumar Devaji is an enlightened person who sends beautiful and meaningful emails. Today I received one such email from which I can title : TOOL FOR SUCCESS.

I thank you. Devaji, for your sharing this. I also thank the writer : Dan Robey for sharing this wonderful
story.

CREATIVE VISUALIZATION
The story of the boy who visualized an Empire

By Dan Robey

Many, many years ago, a young boy happened to walk
by a newspaper publishing office.

He stopped and peered through the
window and was amazed at the activity he saw in the office.

The
activity that surrounded one man in the office especially interested him.

It was the chief editor of the newspaper. The young boy watched in amazement as the
editor barked orders to the employees around him.

The boy sensed the power that the chief editor possessed - how the
entire newspaper enterprise seemed to revolve around him.

 The young boy
began to visualize himself as that editor. Every day he pictured himself as
the editor of that newspaper; he dreamed about it at night.

He created a detailed vision in his mind of himself in that editor's chair. He re-created that vision in his mind day after day.

Who was that young boy?

His name was Roger Ferger.

Not only did he become the editor of a large newspaper, he eventually went
on to become the owner and publisher of the Cincinnati Inquirer, one of the
largest newspaper empires in the country today.

Are you visualizing who you want to become?
What is Positive Visualization?

It can be summarized in this one statement:

"We were created in the image of our creator, therefore
we are creators." Think about this statement very carefully.

Everything that you, or anyone else has done since the beginning of
time, began first with a thought.

If you look back at the careers of successful people, you will
find that almost every one of them first visualized who
they wanted to be...long before they actually achieved success.

Stop everything you are doing right now and think about what you
want to accomplish in your life in this new year. Maybe you want a new
career, or you want to be fit and trim and in great shape, perhaps you want
to start a new business, or buy that dream house you always
wanted.

Make a list on paper right now of the things you want to accomplish
this year.

Make it a habit to read this list to yourself every day
and visualize that you have already reached the goals in your list.

Create a detailed movie in your mind of the new you that you want to see in 2013. Be very
detailed, if your goal was a new home, picture yourself walking into that new home,
picture every detail, the color, the style of home, imagine the kitchen in great
detail, the living room, the bedrooms, the yard.

If your goal was a new career or promotion, picture yourself in
that new office, believe it with all your heart as if it were already true. No matter what your
goals are, visualize them every day.You will find that one day, your visualization will become a
reality!

Don't ask me how it works...just know that it works.
Believe me...I have experienced it in my own life.
