In Mahabharata, when Pandavas were thirsty and wanted to drink water from the pond, Daksha though invisible pronounced, “You cannot drink water unless you answer my five questions.”
Four of the Pandavas- Arjun, Bhim, Nakul, Sehdev – did not WAIT and drank the water immediately. Result: all fell unconscious on the bank of the pond.
Yudhistra, the eldest Pandava came and waited. He listened to Daksha.
Politely Yudhistra agreed to answer the questions of Daksha. One of the questions of Daksha was “What is greater than Dharma (religious conduct).?” “ The patience i.e. mental wait for answers to every problem.” Daksha was happy to hear this. He granted the life back to all his younger brothers 4 pandvas. The unconscious pandvas rose from unconsciousness. Patience paid the reward to the eldest brother Yudhistra.
Have patience, like a burning candle which consumes itself from top to bottom, without any murmur.
