Why destroy present happiness
by a distant misery
which may never come at all,
or you may never live to see it?
Every substantial grief
has
twenty shadows
and
most of the shadows
are
of your own making.
Time heals quietly, slowly

It is no use
giving children just education.
You should give them joy.
“If you want children to grow well,
try and give them as much joy as possible.
Merely giving the so-called education
is like putting
manure at the roots of a tree
which is
without a sunlight.
The sun is strong,
the rain is plentiful
and i
in spite of the goats,
the forests grow.
Likewise,
in spite of errors of parents and teachers,
children flourish.”
GOOD SUPERVISION
Good

A happy marriage

two good forgivers.
Best advice to unmarried girls:
Marry someone you don’t mind adjusting to.
God tailors the wife to fit the husband,
not the husband to fit the wife.
Good Wives
are
young men’s mistresses,
companions for middle age,
and old man’s nurses.
If a man is worth knowing at all,
he is worth knowing well.
Nothing great was ever achieved
without
enthusiasm.
Pardon all men,
but never thyself.
To be good
and
to do good
is
the whole of religion,
other things are secondary.
He
who
has
never hoped
can
never
despair.
It is that togetherness that binds
man and woman
and
give both a respectable place in the world.
“Man cannot degrade woman
without himself falling into degradation.
He cannot elevate her
without
at the same time
elevating himself.”
KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM
“Knowledge
is
a process
of
piling up facts;
wisdom
lies in their
simplification.”
He that boasts
of his own knowledge
proclaims his own ignorance,
says a German proverb.
To be conscious
that you are ignorant
is a great step to knowledge and intelligence,
Martin H. Fischer says.
Money can buy a bed;
not the sleep
Money can buy medicine;
not relief
Money can buy books;
not the knowledge
Money can buy the services of a doctor
but not health
Money can buy slaves
not the braves
Money attracts flatterers and sycophants
not true friends

not his understanding,
but rather his memory.

Nothing that I can do

But may be,
by raising my voice
I can help the greatest of all causes

Anger and intolerance
are the twin enemies
of correct thinking.
Few, save the poor, feel for the poor.
Keep strong, if possible.
In any case, keep cool.
Have unlimited patience.
Never corner an opponent.
And always assist him to save his face.
Always continue the climb.
It is possible for you
to do whatever you choose,
if you first get to know who you are
and are willing to work with
a power that is greater than ourselves
to do it.

like the rest of us,
had many impressions
which saved him the trouble of distinct ideas.

EVERLASTING HAPPINESS
Write your injuries in dust,
your benefits in marble.
- Benjamin Franklin
PLEASURES
For pleasures past
I do not grieve,
nor perils gathering near.
My greatest grief is
that
I leave nothing that claims a tear. - Lord Byron.
PLAIN LIVING
Rapine,
avarice, expense,
this is idolatry;
and these we adore;
plain living and high thinking are no more.
- William Wordsworth.
TROUBLE
Trouble springs
from idleness,
and
grievous trouble
from needless ease.
Benjamin Franklin
I CAN DO EVERYTHING
When anyone tells me I can’t do anything,
I’m just not listening any more.
Florence Griffith Joyner
People visit different places and do different things when on a vacation.
People on a holiday, travel to distant parts of the world to see great buildings or
other works of art,
to learn new languages,
to experience new cultures,
to participate in or watch sports,
to taste new cuisines and for many more different reasons.
Historical or heritage tourism is a branch of tourism
oriented towards the cultural heritage of the location where tourism is occurring.
Culture and history has always been a major object of travel. Cultural heritage includes buildings and historic places, monuments, artifacts etc., that are considered worthy of preservation for the future.
These include objects significant to archaeology, architecture, science or technology of a specific culture.
Smaller objects such as artworks and other cultural masterpieces are collected in museums and art galleries. The tourists interested in historical travel seek adventure, culture, history, archaeology and interaction with local people. This type of tourism involves visiting historical sites, buildings, museums etc.
The overall purpose is to gain an appreciation of the past.
Cultural tourism includes tourism in urban areas, particularly historic or large cities and their
cultural facilities such as museums and theatres. It can also include tourism in rural areas showcasing the traditions of indigenous cultural communities (i.e. festivals, rituals), and their values and lifestyle. Many historic places have shows where the historical events have been dramatized to make them more entertaining. Every place in the world has a history but some places are more known for their historical past like Europe, Chine, India etc.
These places have monuments and artifacts dating back to hundreds of centuries and they dra w a huge number of tourists. Vacation renew our energies and energize us for more work. They create our interest in real life working.
You can fool
all the people some of the time,
and some of the people all the time,
but
you can’t fool
all the people all the time.
Judge not
and you shall not be judged.
Condemn not,
and you shall not be condemned.
Forgive and you shall be forgiven.
Egotism should be shed BY everybody
because otherwise one cannot get enlightenment.
“The sun can give heat and light
to the whole world
but it cannot do so
when the clouds shut out his rays.
Similarly, as long as
egotism veils the heart,
God cannot shine upon it.”
Everyone should labour hard,
the only exception being the disable.
“Millionaires who ate without work were parasites.
Even they should eat by the sweat of their brow
or should go without food.
The only permissible exception was
the disabled for whom society provided.”
What is the difference
between
happiness and half happiness
“ A few more smiles and silence,
sympathy,
a few more tender words
of little more restraint on temper.”
“The human mind is like a package of mustard seeds.
As it is very difficult to gather the seeds
that escape out of a torn package,
so when the human mind runs into
diverse directions and is occupied
with many worldly things,
it is not very easy
to collect and concentrate on it.”
One who adopts patience
will never be deprived of success,
though success may take
a long time to reach him.
In the new year,
may your right hand
always be stretched out
in friendship,
but never in want.
Nothing in the world attracts man,
as much as the love of a child.
It’s not imposing;
it doesn’t arouse fear.
It’s tender and sweet
and has a spontaneous charm
and a trusting liking for everyone.
As one is, so he sees.
If you show love to others,
you get it back in a greater measure even.
“By loving whatever is lovable in those around us,
love will flow back from them to us
and life will become a pleasure instead of pain.
And earth will become heaven.
There can be nothing more boring in life than uniformity.
Variety is the spice of life it is said.
"Tolerance of diversity is imperative,
because without it,
life would lose its savour.
Progress in the arts, in the sciences from diversity
epends upon tolerance of individual
deviations from conventional ways and attitudes.”
World is made up of different cultures and religions.
Their different approaches to life give more spice to life.
Let's enjoy this diversity by believing, " all belongs to one God."
We shall be more happy.
Do not be very much attached to worldly possessions
because they are temporary in nature, besides not belonging to you.
“Seemingly own worldly things; but have an attachment to them.
As the maid-servant can with ease relinquish here
THE assumed ownership of master’s property,
Be prepared for separation from earthly possessions.”
The ideal life to lead
is when no one deceives another,
no one out of danger or resentment
wishes to harm another.
The sun is many times bigger than the earth,
but distance makes it appear like a small disc.
Likewise, “The lord is infinitely great,
but being too far away from HIM,
we are incapable of comprehending his real greatness.”
Realize the value of time;
waste it not with wrong pursuits.
Whatever time is left with you,
spend it wisely in noble deeds.

The first duty of man
is that of subduing fear.
“We must get rid of Fear;
we cannot act at all till then.
A man’s acts are slavish,
not true but suspicious.
His very thoughts are false,
he thinks too as a slave and coward,
till he has got fear under his feet.
